Deleting your ChatSEO account

Where the delete button is, how the email confirmation works, what gets erased and what to do about your subscription first.

You can delete your account yourself from the settings. Deletion is irreversible and only happens after you confirm it by email.

Before you start: your subscription

As long as you have an active subscription or a running trial, the delete button is greyed out, with the message "You must cancel your subscription before deleting your account."

So start by cancelling your subscription or your trial. The button unlocks once you no longer have an active subscription.

Also download your invoices first: once the account is deleted, you can no longer get into your workspace.

How to delete your account

  1. Click your profile in the bottom left corner, then Settings.
  2. Under Account, open Account.
  3. At the bottom of the page, in the Danger zone, find Delete my account and click Delete.
  4. In the Are you sure? dialog, type SUPPRIMER (the word to type is the same in the English interface), then click Send confirmation email.
  5. Open the email you receive and click the confirmation link.

Nothing is deleted until you click the link in the email. It is a safety net: if you change your mind, just do not click.

  • The link expires after 24 hours. After that, start again from the settings.
  • If nothing arrives within 5 minutes, check your spam folder or send it again.

Once you click the link, your account is deleted. You are sent back to the sign-in page, with the message "Your account has been deleted. See you around!", and you get one last confirmation email.

What gets deleted

  • your account, your personal information and your sign-in methods;
  • the sites, projects and conversations you created;
  • your bonus credits;
  • your billing profile;
  • your subscription to our emails: you stop receiving them.

This cannot be undone.

Only want to remove a site?

No need to delete your account. Read deleting, replacing or adding a site: you delete a site from Settings → Sites.

Something wrong?

If the button stays greyed out although you no longer have a subscription, or if the email does not arrive, message us in the chat.
